The Aroresa washing station is located in Ethiopia’s Bensa growing region. The station is privately owned by Wochesa Achiso, who purchases coffee cherries from around 700 local families. These families grow their coffee on small plots of land (averaging 2-5 hectares in size) at an altitude of 1,900-2,000 metres above sea level. Wochesa works collaboratively with Testi Coffee, a family-owned company that supports the washing station with quality control, as well as marketing and selling coffee. In 2018, Testi launched their Premium Cherry Selection (PCS) program, through which they pay producers a premium for their most perfectly ripe cherries. These coffees represent the very best that the region has to offer. This lot from Aroresa is made up exclusively of PCS beans.
